Finding RFID readers that do not match the selected manufacturer

Hi Support,

I've been trying to hookup a few readers to ClearStream, and I am using the find RFID readers function in the Reader list. I have two different types of readers in my environment Motorola, and Impinj. When I use the find feature after selecting Impinj it still seems to find the Motorola reader during the search process. Is this the expected behavior? I would think the Motorola reader would not populate the list.

It doesn't seem to affect anything, really just curious as to why this is happening.

Hi Connor,

Since both the Impinj RFID reader and the Motorola reader communicate through the LLRP protocol they will both accept a connection from ClearStream when performing the find readers function, and since some readers do not report the manufacturer the application will add both of the results list box. In other words it makes a connection to the reader, and does not know its type, so it will add it to the list anyway.

For mobile rfid reader , i think if the protocol is the same, mobiles can accept it.
